My Grandmother is turning 90 this year.  Her birthday is the day after Christmas, and let me tell you, she is the best Christmas present any little kid could have.  When I was little she had slumber parties with just me and her, and she actually slept on the floor with me!  Her favorite story is when I was about 6 or 7 and we had a “camp out” on her back deck.  When I woke up in the morning I was appalled to find her sleeping right inside the sliding glass door.  I flung open the door in a great huff and said in my most accusing voice, “good trick Grandma, good trick.”

She gives the most amazing back scratches.  I would literally kill for one.  OK, maybe I’d just seriously maim, but it would be SO worth it.

Basically, I think she is the kindest, most giving person I have ever known.  And I’m deeply honored to be her granddaughter.

And now she gets to be “Gigi” to my kids.  She has spent the last two summers living with my mom (who is close to us), and I can’t tell you how it blesses me that my kids have gotten to know her, and she them.

She has a special connection to the baby, since she met him when he was just two months old.  To see her eyes light up when she’s holding him, or he says hi to her.  It means so much to me.

When I saw this generations picture on Pinterest, I knew I absolutely had to try it.  And I’m so happy with it!  I finished it just a few hours ago, and my mom and I already have plans to print it as a canvas gallery wrap.  I can’t wait to give it to Grandma!
